How Star Math fits into the Renaissance Star ecosystem

Star’s computer-adaptive math tests—Star Math and Star Matemáticas—can be used alongside Star CBM Math to efficiently provide educators with a more complete view of student math performance. Together, these complementary assessments combine broad measures of overall math achievement with deeper insights into students’ math achievement and learning progress. When used together, Star Math and Star CBM Math help educators better understand what students know and where they may need additional support. Star Math and Star Matemáticas help determine whether language is a barrier to math performance or if learning gaps are skill-based—without over-testing students.

Star Math assessments also help inform purposeful math instruction and practice. Educators can use results to support learning through Renaissance solutions such as Freckle, as well as core curriculum.  Together, assessment and practice help reinforce mathematical understanding, personalize learning, and support math growth within a coherent instructional experience.
