Help students develop the skills that lead to kindergarten readiness

Equip every child with the foundational literacy, numeracy, and whole child developmental skills they need for kindergarten success and beyond.

What educators are saying

We were looking for an assessment that was fast, predictive of later academic success, and sensitive to growth. We selected Star Preschool because it was supported by research and very similar to assessments used by elementary schools implementing MTSS with older children.

Pave the way for Kindergarten success

How Star Preschool works

Empower young learners to build the skills they need for kindergarten with Star Preschool, a suite of tools designed for early childhood educators. These assessments provide quick, reliable insights into preschoolers’ literacy, numeracy, and whole child development. Seasonal benchmarks help teachers screen, monitor progress (literacy and numeracy), identify needs, and group students for instruction and support, so every child is on track for a strong start in kindergarten.

1

Assess

Educators administer brief (~10 min/per child) assessments to measure early literacy, early numeracy, and whole child development, delivered one-on-one, along with observational administration.

2

Know

Analyze data provided on easy-to-interpret reports to help determine if students are meeting seasonal benchmarks or if more support is needed.

3

Plan

The data allows educators to determine next steps and group students to plan instruction to meet every child’s learning needs.

4

Monitor

In addition to seasonal screening, teachers can use progress monitoring measures to track students’ growth (literacy and numeracy), gauge effectiveness of instruction, and adjust as needed.
