Introducing the enhanced Star Family Report
Engaging parents in their child’s educational journey is critical for creating a positive learning environment and motivating student growth. That’s why we’ve enhanced the Star Family Report. Educators are encouraged to share this report with families to inform them how their child(ren) performed on the Star Reading and Star Math assessments. The Star Family Report, found under Reports on your Renaissance homepage, can be printed or saved as a PDF or CSV file to mail electronically.
The Star Family Report includes insightful information about K–12 students’ performance in reading and math and helps families to answer questions like:
- How is my child performing compared to their grade-level peers nationwide?
- Is my child reaching school, district, or state benchmarks?
- Which reading and math concepts is my child understanding and which concepts need more attention?
When parents and guardians understand their child’s test scores, they are better equipped in helping their child to succeed. So, we added a QR code and web address on the report that parents/guardians can use to learn additional information about Star scores to help them interpret their child’s data (as shown below). The report now also provides reading recommendations and a link to access arbookfind.com—a free tool to help educators and families search for the right reading material to motivate and support student reading growth.
Please note: The Star Family Report provides information based on students’ performance on the Star Reading and Star Math assessments administered in English. The report is, however, available in both the English and Spanish languages.
