Rising to Literacy Challenges with Effective Universal Screening
Run time: 55:00
Despite our best efforts, nearly two-thirds of public school students fail to read proficiently, according to NAEP data. To meet this challenge, we first need to screen our students more effectively and better target the skills gaps causing them to struggle.
In this engaging session, Dr. Denise Gibbs shows you how a two-step screening process will boost the power of your RTI/MTSS program. You’ll also learn how this two-step process will help you determine:
- Who needs additional support
- What type of support each student needs
- How to gauge the effectiveness of this support
- What to do if more support is needed
- How to involve parents in their child’s support system
Don’t miss this opportunity to see how a more effective screening process will help you provide the right support at the right time to meet today’s literacy challenges.
Denise Gibbs, EdD, is a national RTI consultant and the author of four books, including Rising to Dyslexia Challenges Through Multi-Tiered Systems of Support and RTI in Middle and High School.
