Phonics
With Lalilo, give students adaptive practice and explicit instruction in phonics, phonology, and phonemic awareness. Students interact with letters and sounds in multiple ways. Monitor progress down to the phoneme, letter, and sound level through the Teacher Dashboard.
Sight and high-frequency words
Teach high-frequency sight words explicitly and systematically. All Lalilo sight words appear on either the Dolch or Fry lists.
Word families
Through scaffolded lessons, Lalilo gives students the chance to take the letter-sound relationships they’ve learned and practice them across word families to solidify recognition of spelling patterns. Lalilo now integrates with Star Phonics, a web-based assessment that screens and diagnoses 12 of the most critical phonics categories and essential skills.
After completing an assessment, a list of available supporting lessons in Lalilo, tailored to each individual student’s results, is automatically generated. Teachers can adjust lessons according to their preferences and assign them with the click of a button, saving time and allowing students to practice the phonics that need extra attention.

Special Report
A study of more than 20,000 students in grades K–2 shows that foundational literacy practice with Lalilo is associated with higher levels of growth in general literacy achievement. Further, students who used Lalilo had higher levels of growth in general literacy achievement than students from the same school districts who did not use the program.
