(April 10, 2014) – Renaissance Learning, a leading provider of online assessments and data-powered teaching and learning solutions, announced today that Hellman & Friedman, the San Francisco-based private equity investment firm, has successfully completed its acquisition of Renaissance from the Permira funds. Google Capital and Renaissance’s management team co-invested in the transaction, which values the company at approximately $1.1 billion.

Renaissance provides educators with the insight needed to help them unlock the learning potential of every student. Its learning progression—a sequencing of skills a student must master from kindergarten to high school graduation—is powered by insights from more than 45 million assessments taken each year by students at more than one-third of U.S. schools.
