Introducing the Star Preschool Literacy Caregiver Report
There has been a significant trend in states mandating screening assessments and parent notifications, particularly following the Science of Reading movement. Although requirements may vary among states, one thing remains consistent―engaging caregivers in their child’s educational journey. When families understand how their children are developing, they are better equipped to support a positive learning environment, motivate growth, and build confidence.
That’s why we are excited to announce the new Star Preschool Literacy Caregiver Report.
Modeled after the existing Star CAT + Star CBM Caregiver Report, the Star Preschool Literacy Caregiver Report ensures that administrators and teachers can communicate screening results to caregivers in a clear, consistent, and meaningful way. Caregivers receive an easy-to-understand explanation of what the assessment measures, why the skills matter for early literacy and kindergarten preparedness and success, how to interpret results, and how they can partner with educators to support their child’s literacy development.
Educators can access the new Star Preschool Caregiver Report directly from the Star Preschool tab on your Renaissance Home Page or through the Assessment Dashboard & Assessments link.

With this new caregiver report, available in both English and Spanish, educators can strengthen school-to-home partnerships and ensure families feel informed, reassured, and equipped with information to support their child’s learning. Together, we can help every preschool learner build the strong foundation they need to thrive in kindergarten and beyond.
