Renaissance makes TEFA compliance simple for Texas districts

Star Assessments meet TEFA’s requirement for annual national, norm referenced testing in grades 3–12 starting in 2026–27. Because Star is an approved TEFA (Texas Education Freedom Accounts) expense, schools can use program funds with no added budget pressure. It’s fast to implement, easy to report, and trusted by Texas educators.

Renaissance solutions aligned to Texas initiatives

Texas is updating requirements for K–3 foundational literacy and numeracy assessments. Until the commissioner adopts the official list of approved instruments under TEC §28.0063, districts are encouraged to use assessments that meet the statute’s criteria during the 2026–27 school year. Star Assessments meet these criteria, helping districts stay aligned with state requirements.
