Oklahoma districts can use the digital Freckle and Lalilo programs to support evidence-based literacy instruction for pre-K–3 students

BLOOMINGTON, MN (July 15, 2025) ‒ Renaissance, a global leader in pre-K–12 educational technology, is pleased to announce that the Oklahoma State Department of Education (OSDE) has selected Freckle and Lalilo as approved Software Solutions for Strong Readers.

Oklahoma districts can select Freckle and Lalilo to provide families of students in prekindergarten, kindergarten, first, second, and third grade with evidence-based literacy instruction resources to support student literacy development in the classroom and at home.

OSDE previously approved both Star Assessments and FastBridge from Renaissance as universal screeners for reading and for characteristics of dyslexia under the Strong Readers Act. Adding Freckle and Lalilo provides Oklahoma educators with quality, assessment-driven reading practice that’s tailored to each student’s needs and is accessible both during and after the school day.

“Building on Renaissance’s enduring partnership with FastBridge and Star Assessments in the state, Oklahoma educators now have seamless access to the acclaimed resources of Freckle and Lalilo, offering innovative tools to enhance classroom instruction and accelerate student growth,” said Chris Wilson, Vice President of Government Affairs at Renaissance.

Freckle and Lalilo—which together form Renaissance’s Individualized Skills Practice bundle—provide an efficient way to help ensure Oklahoma students learn foundational literacy skills to a high degree of accuracy. They reinforce the skills being taught in the curriculum; follow a logical scope and sequence aligned to assessment data or teacher selection; scaffold skills and adapt to students’ performance; and provide opportunities for immediate and formative feedback to support strong outcomes in reading.

Oklahoma educators can learn more about the products and pricing by visiting the Renaissance page on the state of Oklahoma’s learning platform website.
