What’s new in eSchoolData: Enhancements for Back-to-School
As you prepare your teams for the start of the new school year, eSchoolData is excited to share several powerful updates designed to streamline workflows, improve data visibility, and enhance the user experience for our New York and Pennsylvania customers. Our 2025 releases to date bring meaningful improvements to scheduling, reporting, teacher tools, discipline tracking, and more. Here’s a look at what’s been delivered so far:
Smarter scheduling and custom forms integration
This year’s scheduling enhancements in eSchoolData offer users greater speed, flexibility, and control across multiple workflows. A new Smart Search feature makes it easier to locate courses by name or number, while added Course Edit and View icons in Master Scheduling Reports allow for quick adjustments to class sections. Users can now launch directly into Teacher Connect from the Student Profile Schedule tab, improving access to rosters. The Mass Class Assignment screen has been refined to allow deselection of individual sections for easier editing of class lists.
We also introduced a powerful integration with Microsoft Forms. Districts can now create links to Microsoft Forms using User Defined Fields, mapping student data from eSchoolData directly into the Microsoft Forms. These forms can be embedded in Teacher Connect, enabling teachers to quickly complete surveys with pre-filled student information.

Teacher Connect and course tracking
Teachers can now expand student photos across all views, customize how student names are displayed, and view birthday icons within seating charts—making classroom management more personalized. A new administrative report helps districts identify students who have not yet enrolled in specific transcript courses. This report provides a clear view of students who may be off track for graduation, without requiring a full Graduation Map setup.

Graduation pathways and grade notifications
Graduation Map setup was enhanced to support credit combinations, allowing districts to define Career Pathway requirements that span multiple subject areas. This added flexibility helps ensure students meet graduation requirements in a more holistic way.
Additionally, assignment grades can now trigger push notifications in the mobile app. District administrators can control whether these notifications are available and whether parents and students can opt in or out, improving communication and engagement.

Teacher roles and discipline permissions
Users can now determine the sort order for teacher role types, flag substitute roles, and view dropped students with a “D” indicator—ensuring accurate historical tracking. Discipline permissions were also updated to restrict incident deletions to the original author and prevent deletion when actions are assigned. Teachers with appropriate permissions can now add victims to incidents after saving, and quick entry forms now include guardian notification tracking.

Grade imports and registration flexibility
A new GURU Grade Import Profile titled “Student Grades” allows districts to import marking period, midterm, final term, and final course grades using existing templates. This eliminates the need to submit support tickets and provides a full history of imported grades.
Additionally, registration workflows were improved with the ability to inactivate specific Entry and Withdrawal/Transfer reasons. This allows districts to clean up dropdown menus without affecting historical data, making enrollment updates more efficient.

Achievement management
Another recent addition is the new Mass Update Achievement process, which simplifies how districts manage student recognitions. This feature allows users to efficiently assign or update achievements for multiple students at once, either by uploading a list or selecting students individually.
With options to include achievement dates, action types, parent notification status, and transcript visibility, districts gain a flexible and centralized way to manage achievement data. This not only saves time but also ensures consistency and accuracy across student records, making it easier to celebrate student accomplishments and maintain comprehensive documentation.

Renaissance Educator Academy
Finally, eSchoolData now offers a seamless connection to the Renaissance Educator Academy, offering districts a new way to support professional development. Once enabled through system permissions, users can have direct access to the growing library of short training videos on eSchoolData key features and functionality in Renaissance Educator Academy. These on-demand resources support both onboarding and ongoing learning, with new content continuously being added.
These enhancements reflect our ongoing commitment to supporting NY and PA educators and administrators with tools that simplify processes and improve student outcomes. We’re excited to continue building on this foundation throughout the year.
