Technology updates and recommendations

 

We want to make you aware of several important announcements and recommendations concerning Renaissance Place:

The Renaissance Accelerated Reader 360® iOS app has been updated.

Students will only need to use this single app to access all product features. Please download the latest version of the Accelerated Reader 360 app from the iTunes store for the best experience.

If your students have been using the Renaissance Accelerated Reader 360® iOS app:

We encourage you to download the new Renaissance Accelerated Reader 360 iOS app from the iTunes store. The new Accelerated Reader 360 iOS app will give students the same experience they have using a web browser, which includes the latest content and consistent progress screens.

Renaissance Star® apps on iPad® will no longer be supported.

Customers can continue using iPads for Renaissance Star assessments, through use of a supported web browser.

Windows 10, Macintosh OS X v10.11, and Safari 9.x:

Renaissance is now officially supporting these new operating systems and the Safari 9 browser.

Windows XP:

Because Microsoft is no longer providing security updates to Windows XP, we strongly encourage you to upgrade computers still running this operating system.

Macintosh OS X v10.6 and Safari 5.1:

Apple is no longer supporting this operating system and browser, and we plan to end support within the next year. If you are still using OS X v10.6 or Safari 5.1, we recommend that you update to a newer operating system/browser in time for the 2016-2017 school year. As updates are applied to your Renaissance Place hosted site over the next few months, Star student testing will no longer be supported in Safari 5.1.

Internet Explorer 8:

In tandem with Microsoft’s decision to end support for this version of the browser, Renaissance no longer supports Internet Explorer 8.
